I am a professional wordsmith with a lifelong passion for reading both to myself and out loud. I have 10 years of experience in development editing and project management for a math textbook publisher, where my specialty was creating software support and curriculum for exploratory math software. I also make collages, take photographs, and bellydance.

Completed a variety of projects, including copyediting and proofreading college mathematics materials and voicing and producing over 100 screen-capture movies.

Technology Editor Feb 2006–Nov 2008
Responsible for developing curriculum for classrooms and professional development as well as support materials for three exploratory mathematics education programs: The Geometer’s Sketchpad, Fathom, and TinkerPlots.  Provided training to sales staff and teachers as needed. Editor on two grant projects (one SBIR, one NSF) researching student learning in data analysis and probability.

Associate Mathematics Editor Mar 2004–Jan 2006
Developed print components of Fathom 2 and TinkerPlots software packages and supplementary curriculum. Demonstrated those programs at conferences.

Assistant Mathematics Editor June 2001–Feb 2004
Assisted in development of Key’s math textbooks and supplementary materials. Provided writing and reviewing as well as mathematics and administrative support to basal editors. Responsible for primary development of Discovering Mathematics teaching resources ancillary projects.

Editorial Assistant/Math Specialist Aug 1999–May 2001
Provided administrative, technical, and mathematics support to editors. Functioned as project administrator on several projects. Duties included preparation of text and art manuscript for production and math accuracy checking.
